Our Progress

The Progress

The major achievements made under the leadership of Rev. Michael K. N. Atisu include the following:

Administrative Restructuring of the Church

Following the retirement of Rev. Prof. Asibey-Berko in September, 2013, Rev. Michael K. N. Atisu was appointed Senior Pastor on 1st January, 2014. Rev Michael Atisu was inducted into office on 1st February, 2015, with Pastor Benjamin Boateng as Associate Pastor. In October, 2019 however, Pastor (Mrs.) Susanna Atisu took office as the Associate Pastor of the Church.

Having taken over a relatively young and growing Church, Rev. Michael K. N. Atisu, by the kind grace of God and support of the leadership of the Church and co-operation of Church members, has worked diligently to position LSAG to its current status in Assemblies of God, Ghana.
The vision of the Church under his leadership is to “raise a missional church by winning and discipling people to live lives of holiness and power” to advance the Great Commission.

To ensure that the Church grows along the structure and practice laid down by the Constitution and Bye-Laws of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, three (3) Church Board elections have so far been held successfully in 2016, 2019, and 2022 after the expiry of the tenure of the previous Board.
Additionally, the Church has witnessed the strengthening and restructuring of existing departments and units, as well as the creation of new ones namely; the Women Ministry and auxiliaries, Men Ministry and auxiliaries, Youth Ministry, Children Ministry, Sunday School, Missions, Music, New Members Class, Prayer Warriors, Pastoral Team, Finance Team, Protocol Team, Media and Publicity Team, and a Welfare System. The functioning of these structures has greatly enhanced the effective administration of the Church.

The Progress
  • The Progress

Rev. Michael Atisu and the leadership of the Church have redesigned the Church Building Project to incorporate the vision of the current administration. Under the new design, the project has been divided into four (4) major components namely; Main Auditorium, Office Complex Block, Children Church Block, and a Multi-purpose Compound (comprising car park, space for sporting activities and events hosting, etc.).

By the grace of God the Church, with the support of AGCM led by the campus pastor Rev Dr. Stephen Y. Wengam, has continued and completed the first phase of the Main Auditorium component of the building project which has provided a conducive space for worship. The Church premise has also been successfully registered and gazetted for the purpose of celebration of marriages. Mission Projects In line with the vision of the Church, the Senior Pastor was supported to pursue an M.A Missiology programme at the West Africa Advanced School of Theology (WAAST), Togo. He is currently pursuing a PhD programme at the Pan African Theological Seminary (PATHs) on the same premises as WAAST. Again, four (4) pastors have been trained and graduated from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS), Saltpond, under full scholarship from the Church. Currently, two (2) more pastors are under training at AGTS.

Furthermore, three (3) Lay Pastors have been trained and are serving in various capacities in the Church. By the grace of God and with the support of the Madina District Executive and the Greater Accra East Regional Missions Department of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, LSAG successfully planted a Church at the East Legon Hills, Santoe in April, 2017 christened Living Waters Assemblies of God (LWAG), Santeo-East Legon Hills with one of the pastors (Pastor Ernest Opoku-Agyemang) trained by LSAG in charge now.

Furthermore, the Church has extended support to some churches in the Volta Region to purchase pieces of land for their church building projects. The Church is currently sponsoring a student pastor from the Oti Region on a full scholarship at AGTS. He is due to graduate from the Seminary by the end of this year.
